Civil Liberties

• Choice. I believe government should not be in the business of regulating women’s bodies. I support the privacy doctrine that is the basis of Roe vs. Wade and I will oppose attempts to limit a woman’s right to choose.
• Equality. Same-sex couples deserve the same protections and benefits as other couples, including hospital visitation and end-of-life decision-making, inheritance, and state-tax benefits. We took steps in this direction with the establishment of domestic partnership benefits in 2007. I support full marriage equality.
